Financial Advisor Second Opinions

Not sure whether your losses are market volatility or advisor misconduct? We review your account statements and give you a straight answer — before you commit to a full claim.

What it is

A focused review before you decide next steps

A second opinion is a structured review of your brokerage or advisory accounts by attorneys who spend every day in FINRA arbitration and securities litigation.

We look for unsuitable recommendations, excessive fees, unauthorized trading, concentration risk, and misrepresentations — then tell you plainly whether a claim is worth pursuing.

If a full case makes sense, we explain whether the fee would be hourly or contingency before you hire us. If it does not, you still leave with clarity.

What We Review

Issues we flag in a second opinion

We are not providing investment advice — we are evaluating whether advisor conduct crossed a legal line.

Unsuitable holdings

Concentrated, illiquid, or high-risk products that never fit your age, goals, or risk tolerance.

Excessive trading

Turnover and commissions that benefited the broker more than your account.

Unauthorized activity

Trades or transfers you did not approve and never authorized in writing.

Fee drag

Wrap fees, mutual fund loads, or advisory charges that eroded returns without justification.

Misrepresentation

Written or verbal statements about risk, liquidity, or returns that were not true.

Failure to supervise

Patterns the firm should have caught — churning, elder exploitation, or repeat suitability failures.

Warning Signs

When a second opinion is worth the call

You do not need proof of fraud — just enough concern to ask an expert.

Bring recent statements and any correspondence with your advisor. We handle the rest in the free review.

  • You do not understand large portions of your portfolio
  • Your advisor discouraged you from getting an outside opinion
  • Account activity increased sharply without a change in your goals
  • Losses cluster in products you were told were "safe" or "guaranteed"
  • You are considering a FINRA claim but want confirmation first
How it works

From review to decision

A second opinion is shorter than a full case — but follows the same disciplined process.

01 — Intake

You share statements and your story

We listen, collect recent account documents, and identify the time period that matters.

02 — Analysis

We review the account history

Suitability, fees, trading patterns, and disclosures — compared against FINRA rules and firm obligations.

03 — Opinion

We give you a straight answer

Viable claim, weak claim, or needs more documents — explained in plain language, not legalese.

04 — Next steps

You choose what happens next

If we take the case, we explain the fee arrangement — hourly or contingency — before you sign. If not, you still know where you stand.

Common Questions

What investors ask us first

Plain answers to the questions we hear most. Yours not here? Ask us directly — the consultation is free.

Is the second opinion really free?

Yes. The initial review costs you nothing. If we move forward, we explain whether representation would be hourly or contingency before you hire us.

Will you tell my advisor?

No. The review is confidential. We do not contact your broker unless you hire us and we file a claim.

What documents do I need?

Recent statements, trade confirmations if you have them, and any emails or letters about the investments in question.

How is this different from investment advice?

We evaluate legal claims against advisors and firms — we do not manage money or recommend what you should buy or sell going forward.

The consultation is free. Some matters are hourly, and some are contingency. On a contingency matter — No Recovery, No Fee — we do not collect an attorney's fee unless we recover for you. That fee is a percentage of the recovery. In some litigated matters we advance costs and expenses; those advanced costs are recovered from the gross recovery of any verdict or settlement. We explain the arrangement before you hire us.
