July 7, 2022 – An AWC was issued in which William Edward Torriente Jr. (CRD #4255814) was barred from association with any FINRA member in all capacities. Without admission of or denial of FINRA's findings, Torriente Jr. consented to the sanction. He also consented to the entry of findings for which he refused to appear or provide FINRA-requested on-the-record testimony in connection to FINRA's investigation into allegations contained in a Uniform Termination Notice for Securities Registration (Form U5) filed by his member firm. This notice stated that he had voluntarily terminated his association with it while under internal review for placing transactions in client accounts that said clients were not aware of. The findings also state that the firm later filed a Form U5 Amendment for Torriente Jr. disclosing additional customer complaints. These complaints alleged, among other things, that he had exercised unauthorized discretion. (FINRA Case #2020068406701)
