Shadi Taysir Barakat

May 28, 2026 – An OHO decision became final in which Shadi Taysir Barakat was barred from association with any FINRA member in all capacities. The sanction was based on findings that Barakat failed to appear for on-the-record testimony requested by FINRA in connection with its investigation into whether he engaged in churning and excessive trading in his customers’ accounts. The findings stated that FINRA was not able to move forward with bringing excessive trading or churning violations related to the customer accounts because it did not have enough information about what was happening in those accounts, and what Barakat’s rationale was for those accounts.
