March 19, 2026 – An Order Accepting Offer of Settlement was issued in which Avinesh K. Shankar was barred from association with any FINRA member in all capacities. Without admitting or denying the allegations, Shankar consented to the sanction and to the entry of findings that he converted funds from his member firm by intentionally forging customer signatures on annuity applications without the customers’ prior knowledge or consent and submitting them to the firm in order to receive advanced commission payments for the associated annuities. The findings stated that based on the forged annuity applications, Shankar’s firm paid advanced commissions to him of $511,609.74 to which he was not entitled. The annuities were never funded.
